Tinkertown pretty much creates a world and leaves you to your own devices. Various crafting stations can be crafted to unlock even more crafting options exclusive to those stations. In this case, it starts with rudimentary wooden armor and a stone ax/pickaxe Hellsignīefore eventually ending up at higher tier skeleton/chitin armor and golden ax/pickaxe. Which can be used to gradually craft better versions of weapons and tools, and so on until you reach the highest tiers. Then continue adventuring into other biomes to gain more resources. Like most sandbox games, the gameplay loop is the same - use the initial resources in the starting areas to craft the worst versions of weapons and tools. What’s nice is that every time you gain a new item that can be used in crafting, it unlocks the recipes to you so you can gradually discover new recipes by gaining new items. NPCs play a more prominent, active role than before, thanks to a new relationship system in Tinkertown. You then have to farm resources and craft new things to be able to explore, gain more resources, and craft more new things. You start at your initial spawn point with nothing, like most sandbox games. Overall, I’d say the visuals and audio helped make the game much more inviting, as I felt safe to take risks in this delightful little world. ![]() And the music, although a little repetative after some time, is relentlessly upbeat, making you feel good about spending hours in-game. I loved the little details, such as the flowers shimmering or the fish shadows appearing from under the water. ![]()
